#3 Aerikythera Mechanism

It was surrounded by blue. How long had been its rest in aqua pura? I should calculate the time passed. Wait. . .

The world knows much more of ancient civilizations with its rebirth. It was waiting for me. Why did it take so long? And who is its maker?

The world of water it once knew is gone and it now sits imprisoned. Its contact with the future was not supposed to be like this. It has become rusty.

#2 Caravan of the Wilds

We spent two weeks crossing the burning yellow desert, perspiration by day and frost by night. What began as myself and my uncle had turned into a retinue of the oddest collection of characters this side of the Sea. The gypsies’ wooden wagon complained with every bump. The twin brothers and their captive djinn scared off even the most persistent of nocturnal bandits. And no one was allowed to touch the Roamer’s flying carpet.

We eventually reached the City of Flames and went our separate ways. The journey that was torment at the time is now a fond memory that I often relive in my thoughts. I recall that each night the smell of desert jasmine and sagebrush encouraged the pleasant dreams to find me. And I miss the cheetah handler.

#1 Moon Spell

I had been walking for two hours on the rough cobblestone path through the deep forest. The night was quiet and there was no wind. I finally came to a small clearing in the woods atop a small hill. To the east I could see the large yellow moon above the horizon. I stood focused on the moon. My legs grew weary. I laid down in the tall grass and soon found slumber in the cool night air. When I awoke the white moon was directly above me. As the gentle west wind began to nudge the moon toward the western horizon, the moon winked at me. And then the rest of the world fell asleep.
